Hi George! Can you tell us about your past and current experience at RA?

I joined the company when I was 17, after completing a college degree in IT. My average day has changed quite a bit since I joined Retail Assist. I originally started as an Apprentice where I dealt with a lot of calls, training, incident and ticket management. From there I went on to an analyst role with still a bit more training whilst I was doing my college course.

When I moved up to CLA (Client Lead Analyst), my role was more about making sure the client was happy, and now that I am a Client Account Manager, it is very similar in that we make sure the relationship is really strong, which is what we strive for.

What is the best part about working for RA?

I wanted to rejoin the Retail Assist team after some time away because it feels like family, it is a good working community, and all the clients that we have are brilliant.

My favourite things about my job are interacting with all our clients, and our wonderful team. We all get along like a house on fire; client services, the Help Desk, tech services, we all work towards the same goal!

George’s Tips

My tips for good client management? Always listen to the client, make sure you understand their needs, ensure you understand what they require from their estate, their IT team and what they want for their stores. From there, be analytical in understanding their problems. Eventually start to develop a friendship with them and build the relationship from there.

Tell us a bit more about yourself…

In my spare time I do a lot of sports like ice hockey, football and golf. If I’m not doing all of that, I’ll be looking after my Cocker Spaniel puppy.

On a more serious note, I’m motivated by wanting to become the best version of myself. My future goals and aspirations; I just want to keep doing what I’m doing and improve so I can see where that will take me. I’ve done pretty well so far so I will continue doing that!

And finally… what’s your go-to meal deal?

My go-to meal deal is probably some kind of chicken sandwich, a protein bar and a Coke Zero.
