Many local councils up and down the country are trying to juggle additional workload that the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown at local communities, whilst still trying to ensure that all the other support that local councils have a duty of care to provide is being maintained. With our help, your people can focus on value-adding activities whilst we take care of your IT infrastructure.
We already provide a variety of IT managed services to local councils across the country – here’s a list of what we could do for you.
Wandsworth London Borough Council needed out-of-hours telephone service to support an increasing number of staff who work outside of normal hours and need access to key systems.
David Tidey, Wandsworth London Borough Council’s former Head of IT & Business Communications explained:
“Working practices have evolved over the past few years. When we looked at the situation more closely, we realised a growing number of staff were working longer hours than just those spent in the office and therefore needed to access the systems they rely upon to do their job at any time and from any location.
“We could not help but be impressed by Retail Assist’s experience and scope of support operations across industries such as retail and hospitality. It was clear that they could provide precisely the skillsets and out-of-hours coverage we needed and do this more cost-effectively than our resourcing it internally.”
Retail Assist were contracted by Nottingham City Council to reach out to local, independent retail and hospitality businesses on Nottingham’s high streets as they started to re-open during the 2020 pandemic.
Robert Dixon, Head of Business Growth for Nottingham City Council, said:
“Supporting our city’s economy during this pandemic has been a key priority for Nottingham City Council, and it was the right decision to work with Retail Assist to be absolutely sure local businesses were able to access the right support as quickly as possible.”
