Welcome to the team Trevor! Trevor Cross joins Retail Assist

We’d like to welcome Trevor Cross, who has joined Retail Assist as a Solutions Architect. With a rich IT background and a wealth of experience, we couldn’t wait to catch up with Trevor and get to know a bit more about him!

Hi Trevor! Tell us a little bit about your background.

I joined Retail Assist in March and previously worked as Technical Development and Pre-Sales Lead at Entrust Education, a joint venture company between Staffordshire County Council and Capita which supports over 2000 educational establishments across England. Previous to that, I’ve been an IT Manager, I’ve done IT consultancy work and have always enjoyed working within account management and sales.

I’ve worked with lots of cloud-based platforms, and have previously created training videos, webinars and even done some public speaking. My highlights would include leading the Department for Education’s platforming project and becoming a top Google Education Partner, setting up over 5000 user devices across 150 schools and personally training those schools.

What does your role entail? What does your average day look like?

So as a Solutions Architect, I’ll be helping Retail Assist customers to achieve their vision and aim to define what the future of retail systems looks like. At the moment, I’m working on Retail Assist’s Cyber Security Services and how we can continue to develop our offering to meet the future needs of the market. I’m keen to get going on looking at technologies that will help give our customers a competitive edge and drive the future of retail.

What have you enjoyed about working at Retail Assist so far?

Everyone I’ve met has been so welcoming, the people here are great. It’s all about the team.

It’s completely different to my previous industry as the customer’s requirements in retail are a lot more bespoke, whereas schools use cookie-cutter solutions. I really enjoy how tech is continually changing, it will definitely keep me busy and makes the job so interesting.
